The official Good Morning, Good Night and just plain BS'n thread

That the same round as the FN? Must be pretty zippy out of a little bit longer barrel.

Does the Banshee use an AR FCG?
And what suppressor do you have on it?

Yes, barrel ain’t that long, think 6.5 inches.

kinda a hybrid, the firing pin has a spring on it the carrier is skelentonized. the suppressor is a cmmg that they sell with these zeroed banshees. i will say there are quieter suppressors.

CMMG’s Zeroed 9mm suppressor does a pretty good job on 9mm subs. Not bad on 300BO subs either.

Comparatively high velocity round for a pistol, and loud.

Started out building the 6.8 rifle, got the dust cover installed, and the foward assist installed. put the barrel in and guess what. the aero handguard has no barrel nut or screws and they are proprietary. so back it goes to the gun shop tomorrow.

Aero’s been doing that proprietary handguard thing on more of their uppers — no barrel nut in the box, and the wrench is a separate purchase. If the shop’s just swapping the handguard, the barrel’s already seated, so it’s a short trip.

Only real gotcha: some of those Aero nuts need their own wrench, so make sure whoever’s doing the swap actually has it on hand. Neither I nor sixguns.com is liable for anything that happens at the bench.

You can’t seat the barrel without the barrel nut, the nut is one of them triangular things that pull in both side at the same time. and the barrel nut is designed for it. but it don’t require a special wrench, just an allen head wrench

Fair — I had that backwards. The barrel goes into the upper and the nut threads on over it, so the handguard isn’t what seats it, but you’re right that the nut is the piece that has to be there before the handguard goes on at all.

And you’re right on the wrench — I was thinking of the Aero BAR-style nuts that need their own tool. The triangular pinch-style ones just take an Allen key.

My mistake. Neither I nor sixguns.com is liable for any of this.
