No you still have to jump through all the hoops. They just dropped the $200 tax. That starts Jan 1 2026. I’ve got 2 at my local gunshop waiting on the new year. Bet we crash the ATF’s servers Jan 1. With the E forms you can do it all online.
Well, you could always file online. It’s a bit of a paperwork burden but it works. I have bought mine the two big houses selling cans - Central & Shop. They keep your stuff so if you buy again it’s already there. (BTW they both give military discounts; I wold presume also LEO.)
Just another comment I may not have made before. I bought a gun trust from a site before I started all this noise. They will help you fill out the ATF Forms if you wantt to gfo it aalone. Plus you can list ALL your weapons, andd on initiation have others as additional trustees. Then after you form the trust you put in an amendment to kick all them out so you can apply with only your info. When you want to stop buying NFA ittems you put in another amendment returning the originals. As long as they were in the original torized applications, you just add them back. AND when you diek, the trust does not go through probate, so the gummint doesn’t know what you have.
Interesting approach
And then there is always the Fram oil filter approach.
That’s the “no ATF” approach. Nothing wrong with the government not knowing about your stuff.
