On April 19, 1775, 77 men of Lexington, Massachusetts met 700 Red Coats on Lexington Green. Gen Gage came with the clear intent of attacking the colonists and seizing a suspected arms cache. We knew that. The colonists had been warned of the march. Numerous events of local “resistance” had already taken place across the land. Many, if not most, people were fed up with the overbearing Brit attitudes.

Yet despite ALL these factors leading up to this fight…… when the two sides finally “faced” each other, they …just stood there!. Some Red Coat is thought to have fired the 1st shot, and the 77 were quickly disbursed, and the Brit column moved on - to Concord, where there was a dog of a different breed. A company of militia from French & Indian experience who promptly disrupted the Brit column and sent it initially scurrying, and then flat out running back to their barracks in Boston, dropping gear and abandoning at least one cannon, all the while being sniped at by nearby militia units, called to help. It was an unmitigated, colossal failure on the Brits’ part.

I write this in response to Nightstryke’s comment about resisting the GCA. I was 40 y/o, in the Guard, a combat vet from Vietnam, with real skills, arms, and experience. And even to me then the concept of rising up against our “duly elected government” was at a minimum - daunting. Just about that time I also began to read numerous articles on HOW to RESIST. I can tell you - it scared the heck out of me. I was beginning to think another Civil War was in the wings.

I don’t believe we as Americans, are sprring loaded in the combat mode. It has taken us these last 40 years to get to where we are today. Lots of tireless LEGAL WORK attacking the government positions with their own logic. It is. not that we’re not brave enough; it’s that we’retraders, not combatants. We prefer peace and tranquility to fire and brimstone.

So. have a care before hurling bricks about, even in jest. It’s been a long, hard, 40 years, and only now are we beginning to maybe see the fruits of our labours blossom

No i mentioned 86 which is not the GCA it’s the Enactment of FOPA and the Hughes Amendment which makes it so that i can’t own a machine gun unless i’m part of the privileged class. (The Rich) GCA was 1968, FOPA and Huges was 1986. Sorry if i wasn’t clear enough.

Also the National Firearms Act was 1934 for further clarification.

Huh, just realized with the contributor plan we don’t have a resident racist, Jew or Puerto Rican

You can call me the racist, i know back in 84 when i bought my stuff i said i sure wish they would pass a law where the poor ass honkeys couldn’t afford no NFA stuff. and just like that it happened. musta been the multi million i donated to anti gun organizations.

Ohh no, we don’t just hand out those prestigious titles for free, those are only for the privileged, wealthy folk, guess you should have hung onto one of those millions for a time such as this

Now, on the other hand

If I ever learn how to not do what I do in Crypto

I might pony up so you can be the resident racist again

You can build your own can, need to send in the plans first and apply for the tax stamp. Don’t start until approved. Have a way to serialize it. At least that is what I understand.

True you can buy adapters for your barrel which has the serial number from cadiz then build can serialize it with the same number as the adapter and of course do the tax stamp thing so they can get their 200 and place you on a list of domestic terrorist . But thats only what I seen in uou tube.

I have the tools to build from scratch (But maybe not the skills) A lot of time twisting the dials though. Bet it would be 30 or 40 hrs. Probably save money just going to work and buying one.

Hardly, I voted for him and I’m a registered Republican, i won’t lie that i’m envious of those that have more money than I do, but that’s about it. :man_shrugging:

Think on this. You can purchase an 80% frame without serial number, finish it and use it. But you can’t build and use hearing protection without government. approval!

Fukin asshats. How suppressors ended up on the list is beyond me. Id blame hollywood but the old gangster movies no one used them.

Somewhere I was recently reading that NFA 34 was actually a Democrat congress that wanted to totally ban private gun ownership. A bit of a fight ensued, so to get as much as possible the Dems tossed in the proverbial kitchen sink. No rhyme or reason - just ban it.

What I don’t understand is why it’s still there.

There are those that are trying to get rid of it, but i don’t think it’ll work.

Also remember the GCA of 1968 is the law that required all firearms to be serialized there after. I have a few antique guns from the 30s that don’t have serial numbers.

I have two nylon 66s one with a serial number and one without .

?What is the point of serial numbers. All I can think of is as an aid in recovering stolen guns. They don’t really have a place in crime solving, TV not withstanding.
