What I did was generate the Key.
When I was on the screen with thebpaper key Write it down verbatim . Then I took a screen shot to save it. Then making sure to place a single space between every word and all letters all letters must be capitol letters I typed each one out then a single space after the last word No period No space. Then hit enter I have done this 2 times no problems . Found it easy to do .

all i did was copy and paste the key into my notes program. When the message program ask for it i just copy and pasted. Easy.

With Telegram, I think the problem was that the company does have access to some data that govs are interested in. Even if Telegram had a policy of only giving that data over when in response to a binding court order, the govs want more. They want access even without a warrant or subpoena, and arresting the CEO is how far they are willing to go to get it.
The only way out of this, IMHO, is to have different system design. Just having access to secrets makes the company a target, so the solution is for the company to not have that access at all, and give the customer sole control over the keys.
That’s something I appreciate about what we are doing here with DMs on Sixguns.

I’m still wanting to provide @sixguns.com emails to contributors but also want encrypted, proton mail costs more than our base contribution level and they have caved to gov warrants…
but…
It’s actually open source, just with no community help that I’ve found so that’s still possible but on hold for now

Well, not a surprise to me but a huge disappointment
The developers for the software we use will drop support for the encrypted PM’s, Q1 25 claiming:
relatively low adoption rate, and high cost of maintenance
IMO BS, they have plenty of low adoption features and its an open source software where people contribute to the cause, do they have expenses, surely, is this something where it came about at any cost let alone insufferable, I have serious doubts.
I have nothing good to say about them as they stand pretty much the opposite of what we do, this year I discontinued my support for them after six years of being a contributor for that reason, they’re opposition to individual liberty, they are quite intolerant to anyone who’s not kneeling at the alter of political correctness, they had dropped FULL30 for that very reason.
It was a surprise they added this as an official feature in the first place as it truly enabled user privacy.
I’m sincerely in doubt TPTB will allow us anything along these lines, Protonmail as already caved under law enforcement pressure as well as other instances like:
so what chance did we stand?
So, most never get the need and won’t even miss this as we march toward 1984.
I’m not certain when I’ll remove this but I can’t see where I won’t have to due to things simply not working.

As my removing this feature may affect previous messages I’ve set up the option to decrypt encrypted messages one by one before this feature is deactivated.
If you have any PM’s you don’t want jeopardized, and I don’t know they will be just taking taking precaution, go to the top of the PM and look for this option
Still hate seeing this go but, things I can not change etc
