Yeah, its amazing he lived, He wasnt a trained soldier didnt know how to fight I imagine just a person thrown into a war He didnt want to be in. … So do you know much of your kinfolks story . I only learned most of the story after I was up in my mid 30’s . It all started when my 94 yr. Old aunt came to live with my grandfather and told us about the stories that my great great grandfather Madison told her. My great Grandfather had been married 2 times his first wife died in childbirth and the child lived .Which was my Aunt Doris . When she was an infant my Grandfather looked at his mother and father after arriving at their farm some 20 miles from his ( which by wagon was a big trip)and said here I dont know how to raise a baby let alone a girl. So you raise her. ( My Grandmother had raised several girls) so May Herrod raised her. So then He remarried and had 6 kids 5 boys and a second girl ( louise. 4 were in the second world war the youngest my grandpa . Grandpa was drafted when He got to the draft office they ask him if any more boys were at home He said No they are all in Europe in the War and He said I am the last . The draft office sent him home as the last of a name was not sent to serve in the war. My Grandpa became a Baptist Minister later in life and before that was the Adult sunday school teacher for 25yrs. Eventually all of his brothers made it back from the war. 1 drank himself to death 1 hung himself,2 came back home close by but never stayed in touch hardly at all( I only ever seen my Uncle Oris 1 time just for a few min. and My uncle Virgil never did meet him , 1 took up residence in AZ. Which is how my Dad met my Mom in AZ, Edmon needed help so He went out to help his Uncle Edmon’s plow fields on his newly aquired 1000acre cotton farm. There is much more but possibly a tale for another day.

Sadness, in the end I will be part of the story. I dont know if anybof my 3 girls would even care to carry on the story after Im dead and gone. I am assured of 2 things Jesus and my Momma love me. The wife and girls probably could care less if I croaked tomorrow. And nobI dont think I am over reacting . It is a sad situation :disappointed:.

Now that I am scarred for life … I will go find me a Johnny Cash song to listen too.
This may possibly be one of the best covers of all time and one of the best song videos of all time.

He is always a good singer but the outfit kills me … if the guy looses the outfit I will take him more serious . I still think the Elvis abomination was the worst I ever seen.if that makes you feel any better that was a few notches up.
