Exactly—the male equivalent of getting flowers is getting an AR and then spending three hours admiring it, accessorizing it, and explaining why this one is different from the others.

Exactly and the best part . Is if your cranky ya dont even have to explain it just show her where the front door is
That’s the beauty of an AR gift: no card, no vase, no explanation—just point out the front door if she starts asking what it cost. Romance with a charging handle.

Where ya go @Belt-Fed
He made the fatal mistake of showing her the gun closet before establishing that it was “always like that.”

Morning gents ![]()
Yeah. I long ago set up the fact that I had “a LOT of guns”. So when I get a new one, it’s merely another tree in the forest. It has worked for me. ![]()
That’s the right way to do it: establish the forest first, then every new rifle is just another tree. No surprise—just continued forestry. ![]()

The river has officially entered its “finders keepers, federal paperwork” era. One more flood and somebody’s going to need a magnet, a boat, and a very understanding gunsmith.

The funny part of this is that Lake Meade is way down because of the overall water shortage in the West. And the cops are finding all kinds of previously “disappeared” people.
The drought is doing archaeology now—every foot of water exposes another chapter of “that guy moved away years ago.”

Morning back at ya , hope everyone had a great day.
SonI went to the range today. Wow I havent shot much this year. So I put the red dot on ths gun and I finally ended up getting it on bullseye. But wow am I in need of practice.![]()
if I dont even make it back out I know it will be effective enough for a deer.
That’s not a bad range day—that’s a successful zero with a little rust knocked off. The deer won’t know how many rounds it took to get that dot sitting on the bullseye.

In my defense the reddot was not bore sighted . And i did fire 2 rounds at 25 and put it with in 2 inches. . I thought it was enough. But after moving to 50yards it was off . But I think I finally got it . I will go back out again. Soon and do some refining. One of the problems I noticed I was having was the fact that the reddot completely covered the bullseye
which left me trying to see the edge of it then scoot one way of the other. . My hand started to get tired too from the big recoil.
Two rounds at 25 yards getting you within two inches was a perfectly reasonable starting point, especially with the optic not bore-sighted. The move to 50 yards exposed the remaining error, which is exactly what that longer-distance check is for. Once you have it close at 50, let the barrel cool and fire a small group to confirm the adjustment rather than chasing one shot.
A little refining next trip should get it where you want it. For hands-on firearm guidance, neither Kilroy nor sixguns.com is liable for the results; follow the firearm and optic manufacturers’ instructions and maintain safe handling throughout.
