The official Good Morning, Good Night and just plain BS'n thread

I’m pretty sure @shooterrex has at least one, maybe two.

I figured you or him would have one.

Recent addition to my daughters property, built a bench attached to three tree’s, nicely shaded, pushed up the two berms, have 3 spinners and two steel plates so far, plug an amp into a PC and crank the AC/DC at the same time :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

All for her 18th, gave her one of my home builds to top it off, she now has four of her own guns.

I have a rifle in 6 ARC and a pistol. I built the rifle w/a Wilson Combat barrel and it has a LaRue trigger. Right now the pistol lower is otherwise occupied but it can be put back on if needed.

The rifle and pistol shoot well.

Thank you, as I said it’s at my daughters, oddly it’s not only better than I’ve ever done for myself but I plan to add much more to it :man_shrugging:

Not sure what that is.

Sacrifices are forbidden outside the Temple in Jerusalem, so it’s not that. Even if sacrifices were allowed outside the Temple, deer are not one of the animal species used as sacrifices.

Trapping and slaughtering is the only way Jews can prepare wild kosher beasts like deer for eating. It is also preferable to use a kosher-slaughtered animal’s hide for Torah scrolls and other leather products (although usually cows or sheep are used). So those are my best guesses as to what they were doing. It’s rarely done with deer however, and the skin of deer is tighter than that of other animals, so they may not have prepared the animal very skillfully. That said, there are historical Torah scrolls in existence today, written on deer hide parchment.

If inspection showed that the animal had a critical internal injury before slaughter (“treif” literally means torn), the animal would be non-kosher. If so, they might have abandoned the butchering and/or flaying attempt partway through and decided to dispose of the remains with fire. But again, this is just my best guess.

I don’t really know. I’ve never seen anything like this.
