I really love flinters, this is a Lyman great plains rifle. i have the percussion model i bought probably 25 years ago and it was 600 bucks back then. these are excellent made guns and heavy. well this one is used but looks pretty new. when he said 200 bucks i couldn’t pay him fast enough. they are over 900 bucks if you can find one. and it’s not scary black

This one isn’t scary black either, PSA Jackal, 5.56 pistol. side charger and piston operated.

I got the cylinder out but there is one bullet that is welded inside the cylinder. i put it back in the solvent and let it soak for a couple more days. it’s pretty pitted up.

It won’t stop raining long enough for the ground to dry. i was going to go shoot it and the Kuna. i changed oil in a four wheeler and kinda delayed. but looked at radar and rain will be here in an hour or two. so no shooting today.

Went a shot two wild animals today

Took the Kuna and Jakl for a spin today, i didn’t take very many pics as i didn’t have a lot of time, so the gun pics will be old ones i posted. first was the Kuna. it took a bit to get it sighted in. was shot at 50 yards. this gun most definitely needed breaking in. it was hitting all over the place at first which made it hard to get the prism sight set. and the selector switch was a very hard pain to move. couldn’t do it with a flip of the thumb. needed to grab it with both fingers. it got easier but still is hard to move. shot it about 200 rounds only took one pic of target and almost forgot it. had to peel up the new sticker i put on. was last 50 rounds or so at 50 yards. i really like that 4x prism hawke. It never jammed or anything. just worked and was no recoil. really nice little gun.

Next up was the Jakl, shot at same 50 yards, now the Hawke sight on this on is not magnified. but the problem it has a QD mount and it kept coming loose and i had it so tight i though i was going to break it. anyway about the time i got it in the sight would come loose. well after the third time i took it off and used iron sights. run about three hundred rounds through it without a problem. this thing is pretty neat. a cross between an AR an AK. The orange target is where i would get it hitting center and it would move, the black and white one is where after moving the irons around a bit to finally get it hitting black. last few rounds with irons hit the black at 50 yards and i quit. gonna take that red dot back and see if i can trade it for another Hawke 4x prism.
