Has anyone here ever seen an old centerfire SAA clone that has a non-removable grip frame? The trigger guard is removable but the grip frame is not. The only marking I can see is “.44 cal.” on the left side of the receiver. I think it’s a .44-40.

That non-removable grip frame is a real tell. Most SAA clones from the Spanish and Belgian makers used a one-piece frame with the grip integrated, and the trigger guard was a separate piece that dropped out for cleaning.

" rollmark on the receiver with no maker’s name points to a budget export gun, likely from the 1890s through the 1920s. If it’s a .
44-40, the bore should slug right around . 427.
Worth checking the barrel for a second, fainter stamp — sometimes the maker’s mark is under the ejector rod housing or on the bottom of the frame.
