It isnt a mares leg it is a registered short barrel shotgun. It started life as a shotgun then got cut down to this.

Yes, I knew there was just never seen a mares leg style … cant remember winchester turn of the century, made one in a lever, looked this up check it out Taylor and company makes a replica

Hey good morning! Yes i am very familiar with what a mares leg is and isnt. I am a taylor dealer! Look at my web page and you will see i deal in taylor Cimarron starline, LE Wilson etc. i am a licensed 07 manufacturer with SOT. There is a legal difference between your mares leg and a short barrel shotgun.

My Father-law hunted regularly with a 10 ga. Winchester lever action.

He was a fairly big guy, plus it was so far back (early 60’s) that he was using Regular 10 ga. paper shells. I think I still have a box of them.
