They grow wild over most of the eastern US . We pick them before they are ripe and make pies and jelly . They are tart and if you like ruebarb you would like them . We all meet at a family graveyard each year on this weekend and there are people that come from surrounding states in hope that my grandmother and mother will have gooseberry and blackberry pies for the dinner .Grand ma passed a few years ago and mom dosnt cook like she did . But I am very lucky in that my wife can make pies better that both of them .

Yep, use to pick them when i was in jr hi.
Billions of blackberries , they take over anywhere they aren’t beat back. Any vacant lot or abandoned house and a year later bramble forrest.

On the menu ; Spatchcock or Butterflied Chicken, Jalapeno Poppers, steamed asparagus, breezy evening, assistant chef Mando.
I put a butter herb mix under the skin at the breast and seasoned the other side of the chicken; poppers have sausage, smoked pepper white cheddar and cream cheese.

Jalapeño poppers are the best !!!

My fave is to have ham and cream cheese, with pineapple on the top. A hollow jalapeno is a blank slate.
