BAR 338
Good-ness gracious… is that a 26" or 28" barrel ?
Threaded muzzle brake …nice ! That is a beauty jealous
26" + the comp.
Had the comp built/ installed by Kevin Knight out of Montana, around 1998? Line bored on the barrel if I remember. Hardly tell where the barrel ended and the comp began. Shoots like a kitten.
Not sure if he is around anymore, maybe he became Knight Armament? Hell of a smith. I’ll bet his apprentices turned out to be some of the best. He told me once he had a barrel full of barrels the apprentices practiced on over and over and over before he would ever let them touch a customers gun.
Nice!
I never have done that. I normally dont shoot over 200yards. But can definitely see the need for that on a rifle like that .Lapping the rings that is.
For a mile i dialed in 23.5 mils then held over another 1.5 mils. Thats with a 100 yd zero.
Are you using an above 200gr. Projectile ? I think that 98z was using 225ELD’s
I see what you mean if I did the math correctly at 600 your dropping 71.28" and at 800 upur dropping 167.04" … so yeah big difference.
Best bullet I have found for the 338 is the Barnes 185. For years I suffered less then stellar groupings with heavier ELD’s and SST’s. Maybe it’s the Spaghetti noodle barrel. Barnes are under 1" at 200 yards if I do my part.
220BT’s I see your into the heavier projectiles also . The BC has to have something to do with their use ?
BC on those is 611
This is James a friend of mine. We go shooting from time to time. He is holding my 300 Winchester Magnum custom built rifle. I built the rifle in the 1990s it is on its 4th barrel and yes i made the suppressor for it also.
Sam
Just plain bad ass
That Barrel nearly gies clear into next year geesh
That is funny. The barrel is actually only 27-1/2” long the suppressor is 10” long.
