Often permits give you an advantage. Here in Texas, and I know in Indiana also, if you have a permit, if you purchase a firearm you don’t need to go through a NICS check - you can walk out the store with the weapon right after you pay.
I’m planning to renew my permit in AZ as well. It lets me carry near schools, and there are a bunch of those near my synagogue.
I keep mine in Missouri . It lets you carry places that you can not without it .
My Indiana permit is lifetime. Myght gt a Ky one of these days.
I too have a lifetime IN carry. I got it while working there. It’s nice to have a back-up. I have the IL one just because we go back to visit with friends often. And of course Texas.
Wow. Can a nonresident get a lifetime permit? My Arizona permit expires every five years. Having a lifetime permit respected in my state could be important in case offices get shut down again in the next COVID.
There wont be a next shut down people wont put up with it twice . I never obeyed it the first go around. Did what I wanted went where I wanted screw em all !!
I think so. I got mine when I lived there. I just gave them my new address and they sent me an updated permit. I know they let out of state folks get Indiana permits.
I got mine while working in the ED at St. Mary’s in Evansville. I had the Director write a letter that I worked late shifts and needed a firearm. No further questions. The local sheriff printed me, helped me fill out the form and sent it to the Indiana State Police. A number of weeks later I got my lifetime permit in the mail at home - in Illinois. First permit I ever had. I understand they no longer give out lifetime permits, but those that have one are honoured.
