Yeah but when people actually take notice on your stance it’s kind of nice

Interesting article. That said, it is the Atlantic, and journalists of their persuasion have been known to inflate and misquote polls to make their favored position (here, of allowing Hamas to remain in power) seem more accepted than it actually is. For example, opinions on global warming, jab mandates, and so on.

I will be honest its getting to the point that a person of any Jewish or Judeo-Christian faith is in the minority

It’s not a comfortable feeling for sure.

For example, there are roughly 16 million Jews in the world (7.3 million of those in Israel), while there are about 2.1 billion Muslims and 2.4 billion Christians in the world. Atheists are estimated at about 500 million.

If each person is roughly as likely as any other to write about their beliefs, the Jews are outnumbered by over 300 to 1. That’s part of why fighting antisemitic messaging is so hard. We get drowned out, even if just a fraction of those are antisemitic.

I have always tried not to care about the race card but I do tire of all the drama. I don’t get complaining about it, shining a big light on what really bothers you, makes no sense at all to me. I’ve heard so much over sensitive garbage called this ā€œantisemitismā€ I pay even less attention. Hide your button and maybe it won’t get pushed as often? To the point your button needed its own word, just not a healthy obsession for a person or a race.
You have to realize at 300-1 that’s a bunch of people that don’t see your paradigm, most likely don’t care, wonder who needs to adjust to get along? Go ahead and fight those odds I get that you have to stand up for yourselves but the victim card has been worn out at my house. Lest you you think I’m picking on Jews, the Sharpton system that Blacks have allowed to represent them is about as victim as it gets and the original genesis of my position on the subject. Is this position antisemitic? I don’t want to go to jail… I can change…

I understand your thinking @jtallen83 but, lest I remind all of us that even as gun owners we are minorities and or as Americans we are the ONLY country with our freedoms . The Iranians Hate us as bad as they hate Jews the call us the great Satan . They want to annihilate Jews and Americans. So the next time it is brought up remember we are all in that same boat and the ones always protesting Jews hate America to . We are in this together.

We don’t need to adjust to falsehoods about us. The slander must be fought.

We don’t need to erase our own history. As long as we draw breath, it’s our duty to remember it and pay our respects to our forbears.

We don’t need to give up our faith and traditions. Would you betray your own soul and god? Don’t demand us to betray ours.

Not sure if you intended but you brought up a point

and

Neither such outnumbered Jews or belligerent reverends would ever stand a chance of being discussed in the current manner without MSM

The talking heads at 60htz

Your pointing out this small, yet large fact proves MSM is puppeteered by a hidden entity, be it deep state, oligarchs or whomever Jackson would not even be listened to but by a minority of blacks and Jews prefer to self isolate into communities.

Yet both cause such divisive drama?

I don’t think so.

What I do think is the true few, the ones pulling the strings, they need us to be infighting, so long as we are we won’t focus on where they’re hiding, who they are, and how we defeat them.

Good post Jim, keeps me away from the Butchers Hook just a bit longer

I was gonna change the world with honor and aggression
No one listened, no one cared, all they saw was misdirection

(Go ahead and disagree) I’m giving up again

But, must it?

See, I learned at a young age a little saying

ā€œSticks and Stonesā€ is an English-language children’s rhyme. The rhyme is used as a defense against name-calling and verbal bullying, intended to increase resiliency, avoid physical retaliation, and/or to remain calm and indifferent.

And it’s served well.

Most recently I had a childish neighbor who sought to be an even bigger ass than he naturally was, caused me a lot of trouble.

A majority of the time I ignored him as the alternative was perhaps as Jim put

It appears by not engaging he was driven into more of a place of upset, so much so he put his house up for sale.

We bought it.

Be careful with that term ā€œtheyā€ as while we have radicals so do ā€œtheyā€ and while many of us prefer to live and let live I expect ā€œtheyā€ may as well.

Yes, on a rock hurling though space

This desire to have a good name, it’s not coveting is it?

Can you hide from God?

Can slanderers?

Jim gave you great advice

I did that with my neighbor and now I enjoy fixing the place up, I’ve gutted the entire interior and been landscaping with this nice weather, had I entertained his misery with fighting he may have enjoyed it and not sold, not that I know for sure, but, God works in mysterious ways and I thank Him for the additional land to enjoy.

No, the prohibition is on coveting things belonging to your neighbor (Ex. 20:14). One’s own good reputation doesn’t belong to anybody else. It is something rightfully earned, and it is wrong for others to harm it without justification.

Even if a good reputation did belong to somebody and one desired the same for oneself, the verse only describes physical things, like his house, his wife, or his animals. In contrast, it is praiseworthy to covet spiritual things like good personality characteristics, since this will inspire one to improve oneself. A good reputation is one such characteristic, and one legitimately acquires it through wisdom, piety and kind deeds. Desiring that is not a sin at all.

Yes, for several reasons.

  • Slander is an assault on truth.
  • Slander harms the reputation of the innocent, which leads to other concrete harms. (Remember how conservatives were debanked? How freedom lovers and the faithful were branded anti-science and threats to the public; and how they were ostracized and fired?)
  • Evil speech kills three people: the speaker, the believer, and the one spoken about. (Arachin 15b)
  • He repels the Holy One and brings destruction upon himself: ā€œWhoever slanders his neighbor in secret, I will destroy him; whoever is haughty of eye and proud of heart, him I cannot bearā€ (Psalms 101:5).
  • One must not bear false witness. (Ex. 20:13)
  • One must not be a gossipmonger. (Lev. 19:16)
  • One must not cause another to make a mistake and sin (lit. ā€œYou shall not place a stumbling block before a blind person.ā€). (Lev. 19:14)
  • One must not incite falsely to other crimes. It’s morally reprehensible, even where it is lawful, and it is usually illegal. If one is slandering in order to politically advocate for a Foreign Terrorist Organization (FTO), it could amount to actual incitement to terrorism (this is an exception to the First Amendment; see SCOTUS, Holder vs. Humanitarian Law Project).
  • The effort to disseminate slander, the effort to rebut it, the effort to defend against the rebuttal, and the money to litigate in court etc. diverts resources from more positive things, like developing one’s own moral character.

All that concerns slander generally. There is also another issue, which particularly affects slander against Jews:

  • Those who curse the Jews are themselves cursed, while those who bless the Jews are blessed (Gen. 12:3, Num. 24:9).

That’s why slander must be fought. Fighting it saves the would-be slanderer, the one who believes the slander, and the slandered.

I don’t necessarily mean fighting it with active censorship. I mean fighting it with truth, or at least pointing in the direction of truth, e.g. to doubt the slander.

Well, you didn’t need to go further than that

I’ve been a bit slow getting on this train, perhaps to comfortable on the

but, as I’ve been discovering evil does require being met and overcome rather than tolerated.

The rest of your answers are good as well.

But, can we overcome the slander?

No.

But He can.

So, can we reach those who do slander?

Same as above, except He may be, to a degree, causing it

More to your corner

will bring their fears upon them

Those who slander fear Trump, unreasonably in any way I can see short of delusion.

Yeah, about that, I don’t see Jews as a problem, but when I see problem Jews my mind goes here:

Closely related to slander is scandal, Netanyahu has caused a great scandal.

Speaking so is not slander, he has caused damage to your reputation as a Jew, so, what type of Jew is he?

No, but I won’t show my button, that’s OPSEC. These hard lines that are drawn end up nothing more than a target for your enemies.
I don’t want anything from either side thousands years drama, I got problems of my own, I don’t expect anyone to do anything for me … think about that last one if you want to adjust your disappointment level with the world, don’t connect your happiness to others action or lack of.
