Identifying the most popular guns in the U.S. is challenging due to limited sales data. We used the following criteria to discern which guns are most popular in 2025:

Top Selling - Guns that achieved high sales numbers (according to admittedly limited data)

Top Rated - Guns that are highly rated, positively reviewed, and recommended by experts, enthusiasts, and gun owners

Available - Guns that are freely available for purchase

Most Popular Guns in the U.S.
#1 - Ruger 10/22 - Semi-Auto Rifle
The Ruger 10/22 maintained its spot as the most popular semi-automatic rifle in 2025. The .22 LR rifle has been a dominant force in the market since its release to the public in 1964.
The 10/22’s affordability, accessible design, and ease of customization make it an excellent choice for plinking and varmint control. With multiple available variations and more than 7 million sales worldwide, the 10/22 is poised to remain immensely popular for a very long time. (2)

The Tikka T3 and its successor, the T3x, have maintained their spot as the most popular bolt-action rifles in 2025. Manufactured in Finland by SAKO (a subsidiary of Beretta Holding), the rifle celebrated its one-millionth sale in 2020. (3)

The SIG Sauer P365 is the best-selling new semi-auto pistol in 2025. Although this handgun is younger than others on our list, it redefined the concealed carry market with its micro-compact design and has remained a top seller since 2018. The P365, P365X, and P365XL may very well be top-selling guns on the market.
