Is it respect for the man, respect for the position, or respect for their tradition? Neither makes much difference to me but seems like it would add context. I must just be a simple man because it feels more asskissy than respectful to me. Have they figured out Trump likes his ass kissed, most likely, all part of the show.

I can only guess mostly the latter two, doubt he personally wins points, but the fact they understand decency is why I say they shame us.
If you seen the photo in the link above which has the sideline “prioritizes punishment over rehabilitation and favors corporal and capital punishments over incarceration.” you’d have a better understanding of why.
Our nation has liberal DA’s and Judges.
Perhaps a revolution is in progress again to take the people from judge’s to kings, j/k, of course it is.

The Saudis have their own agenda, to protect their oil wealth and markets. I imagine the royal welcome is designed to appeal to Trump as an elite businessman and elite dealmaker.
It’s like when you go to a car dealership, they puff you up and you feel powerful, smart and rich, so that they can encourage you to get the luxury package and discourage you from “being cheap.”

Now that an appeals court has sided with Trump on his power to control the california national gaurd, let’s see if Gavin Newscum is willing to squander his remaining political capital by taking it up the line. Lets hope that any presidential aspirations are squashed by the accumulated bad choices and the destruction of california he has presided over, as well as the end of Karen Bass’s career as well.
