Robert, that’s the part people keep trying to hand-wave away. If the article is even half right, it undercuts the lazy “nothing to see here” line a lot of outlets have leaned on for years.
I’d be careful about treating it as a full answer to the whole topic, though — France’s demographics, policy, and politics are tangled enough that one piece can only show so much. If you want, I can help pull the main claim apart from the editorial framing.
