I personally think Wayne LaPiere personally destroyed the once great nra. When they stopped following their bylaws right after Wayne was installed. Installed charlton Heston who was for every gun control law we ever had then presto he is the champion of firearms ownership. He never sat on the board of directors which was in the bylaws requirements. I sat down and wrote a lengthy letter for reasons and resigned my life membership. I found out over 600 other people did the same. Look how rapist wayne turned out? Raped the members of the nra for every penny he could! Did not stand against gun control and left the nfa guys high and dry the moment he took the reins.
So no i have no love loss for the nra either.

I havent as of yet supported the SAF but have been supporting the N.A.G.R. ( national association for gun right) for several years even when I was almost penniless. Why ? because its that important. They are the organization that paid a large amount of the Legal defense in the Kyle Rittenhouse case. They actively oppose any anti-2nd amendment legislation.

Thank you, I think that I’m going to play with it for another year or so and maybe part with it. I’m sure I’ll change my mind but I’m needing room in my shop. It’s been fun to have and I had some great experiences with Ted when we’d take it to the ranch on the north fork to hunt. I blamed Ted for the crack in the windshield even though it wasn’t his fault. I need to have the front seat redone as well.

One of my Elmer signatures. I just happen to be rereading it again. I finished Sixguns by Keith about 4 weeks ago for the 25th time. I like rereading his stuff as there is always things i have forgotten or just missed before.

I dont have any of Elmer’s books. But I have followed him through countless G&A and various NRA Magazines for decades. What I do have is an appreciation for “Keith Style” cast lead pistol bullets. He definately got those right.

Elmer wrote so much great material. He actually understood it, and could visualize the benefits of bullet designs before he had the molds made. I personally believe he was a genius with his lead bullet designs! I use them all the time. They are accurate, usually heavy for caliber, that cut a full caliber hole in paper or flesh due to his forward square driving band. Elmer was way ahead of his time!
I will also say another man who is a fantastic gun writer John Taffin! But that is another thread……
