Since this is Sixguns.com i am curious if there are other Elmer Keith fans out there?
What Elmer Keith books have you read?
Which of his books are your favorites?
Do you like Keith designed bullets? And why?
Who customizes their carry gun to fit their hand for and for functioning works of art?
Sixguns read it digitally on Kindle. Its like a history of the sixgun. Loved it.
I am most definitely a big fan.
I can’t answer affirmative to any of those questions

Mr. Keith has been a major influence in my sixgun acquisitions, customizing, and loads. Most of my reloads utilize Keith style hard cast semi wad cutters…love the wide flat nose and wide or multiple lube grooves. And of course my favorite handgun grip material is ivory. I also like nice leather for my sixguns.

Six guns is in my Kindel and i read it again every two or three years. I’ve read dozens of this magazine pieces over the years.
Yes, I have all his books two are signed.
I still have his Ford Bronco and an Elmer Keith commemorative .44… still unfired.
Now that I think of it, I have quite a few small things that belonged to him.
The bronco is a great EK collectable.
Other than some of Elmer’s guns, owning his bronco is pretty impressive!!!
I’ve had it since 2009 when I bought it from Elmer’s son Ted. It’s a 1980 model and I think it’s got 89k original miles. Ted and I would take it to Elmer’s ranch north of Salmon to hunt. Many pictures in HIWT and other articles Elmer wrote were at the ranch.
I’ll get some pictures when the weather clears this week and try to get some pictures of the original papers from the purchase. I even have the original license plates, of course it’s a gun caliber…“45”.
No pics?
On the old computer…as soon as the north Idaho weather clears I’ll get some posted.
I first read Sixguns by Keith around 1990. Then I got a copy of HIWT and both volumes of Gun Notes. Elmer Keith was a big inspiration for the modifications I made to my first Ruger Blackhawk; Bisley hammer, white outline sights, #5 base pin. I have Keith bullet molds in both .357 and .44 and have spent lots of time shooting both. Time well spent.
