Alright great replies.
Al, the ++ is a sub sub category and not native to this software, I can hack into it and do it, my concern is the developers keep “upgrading” (cough) the software, as they do custom things I do break and need to be redone, if that happens with a bunch of sub sub domains it would be a headache I’d like to not set myself up for.
So I’d like to use tags, we can set each post to require one and set them up in advance, tags would eliminate lengthy category lists and keep and cleaner appearance
We can start there and if people create posts before a category is made we can easily move them later.
I’m wondering, can we do a “Classic” firearms category, tagline the stuff legends were born from or other short defining statement.
Classic may have
Sixguns (that’s all handguns, tags separate, like replica’s)
Long Guns (we can then set lever action tags, henry tags etc)
Black Powder (cap n ball tag, muzzle loader tag)
After Classic we can have Modern
Handguns (tags for revolvers SA, DA, Semi Auto etc)
Long Guns (tags for everything, AR,AK, Long Range etc)
Here we can have a hunting category with tags, revolver hunting for example
Then a gear and gadgets with a couple sub category’s pus again tag use
As of now that gives us three categories, lots of room saved, room for ammo, reloading is tagged under it, room for stories, heel i was there tagged under it, just examples.

I’d like to only do this once and have a clean professional and awesome result
If agreed lets start with just a few category’s and also work on tags, as we go if we see a solid need for sub categories we can add them then move tagged posts to them, opinions?

Definitely an integral part of southern hog hunting with hounds. Those guys will get those hogs cornered up with dogs pop em in the head with a 22 and then run in and hog stick em with a Bowie style blade right behind the shoulders. Its insane to watch.

I started hunting Big Game with Revolvers after reading Taffin Articles on Sixguns and also buying magazines that Jon Taffin was writing for. I think I took my first buck with a revolver in 2005. and I have been at it ever since

Part of the sixguns makeover will include posting all those articles in wordpress and giving them new life, I believe I’ll start that as soon as this forum is rolling well, followed by a video side

Tags are meant to keep a cleaner more organized, less is more look
