Buried in the news about the Social Security purge:
"...reducing the longstanding scheduled downtime [of online accounts] of 29 hours per week to zero."
29 hours of downtime *every* week?
I never understood that. How does a WEBSITE end up having hours?
Fucking stupid. Only a government agency could do something so completely stupid.
@Dan_Ramos @tj Some in government probably actually think they need to take down the server and dust and clean around the pissers to keep them fresh and of course they use insurgent labor to accomplish this.
I wonder if they think that the server can't be up unless the admins are there to man it. They probably get paid to sit there just in case they're needed.
