Red dots for handguns have come a long way in a short time. The confusion gets to be what “footprint” (mounting) style does which one use or more importantly which one works with my pistol? Here is a brief article that should help with those questions.

Isn’t that the truth, of course followed by which one is worth a dang, reviews/opinions seem wildly varied, and in part likely due to how many did someone try before they gave their positive review, and for how long did they try it?

That is so true, the “unboxing” and one range time reviews suck so bad. That is why with my reviews I put the product through its paces for months to a year and even follow up / update my reviews as time progresses. Unless the product is crud to begin with.
