2A Issues

We here are all invested in 2A to some degree or another. This topic heading, then, is a place to put 2A news, comments, etc. This can be NFA things, general anti-gun rulings, PRO-gun rulings, etc.

AND to start it off with the proverbial BANG, here’s the latest on Federal court rulings pertaining to NFA.

NOTE: This is a somewhat narrow ruling, BUT it kind of guts the basic stand for banning or otherwise “regulating” machine guns. What it says is that the mere ownership of a machine gun cannot be banned. It says nothing about shooting it, taking it to a range, etc. BUT, if the mere ownership is now LEGAL without a tax stamp (and he attendant ATF hoopla, then using what you own can’t be far behind, I would think. This idea makes the GCA and Hughes Act and whatnot ALL now unconstitutional. Wonder wnen it will hit SCOTUS. Doubt the government will allow this to stand unchallenged.

Remember this ruling only applies to Mr. Brown, it’s not a state, or national decision, but it does set precedence to maybe strike down the hughes amendment that banned new machine guns after 86. Honestly If i could build my own machine gun and just pay the tax stamp that’s about the only time I’d pay for a tax stamp. Because building a machine gun is easy, the problem has always been the governmental hooplah behind it. Of course this is my opinion, I follow the law like everyone else.

Yes, as I said, it’s kind of a narrow ruling, BUT it now lays the logical foundation for outlawing the whole machine gun ban. And certainly the Hughes amendment.

My personal interest might extend to a 3-round trigger - kind of a halfway point between binary and full auto. I personally have shot enough full auto in the service to get that bug out of my system. Some of what all I feel is related to not being allowed to own/have one. Were it to now be allowed, I very well might not get one. I have binaries, and that’s already a tactically adequate product; a 3-rid burst trigger would only be icing on the cake.

Nice i don’t have a Mini-14, always wanted one. I elected to get a Semi-Auto M14 (Not an M1A.) an M1 Garand, and a M1 Carbine…

Top is a mini 14 GB, they were supposedly used in Nam. bottom is a Mini 30 and it is absolutely horrible on accuracy. even with a scope on a rest it can’t shoot 6 inch groups at 50 yards

Trump signed an executive order today that will review and dismantle Biden’s 2A executive order restrictions.

Here is another way the 2A will benefit from Trump. Getting rid of USAID will eliminate 10s of millions of dollars from anti-gun organizations.

I carried an M2 carbine in Nam for a while. Had it as the truck gun. With 2 banana clipped together mags (taped - no fancy mag clips). We would put it in the PC in the morning so anyone driving would have little extra firepower.l

Remember, they weren’t meant to be RIFLES but to augment the armament of an officer who would usually have a 1911 only.

Federal court just handed Illinois a giant black eye.

State of Illinois vs Brown just struck down Illinois FOID card law. But listen to the arguments. They can apply to numerous other laws too.
