Who in the heck is randycrisp5150?
Festus !
He is slowly succumbing to the effects of the Alzheimers but so far he is able to stay in his own home. Iâve got someone taking him to breakfast usually 3 times a week since itâs almost a six hour drive to check on him. I get down that way to check on him pretty regular and the guy that takes him to breakfast and on errands lets me know when to send groceries. Dad is determined to live in his house until the end so Iâm doing what I can as long as I can.
Sad on the one hand that time is still taking its toll. But I am heartened to hear that He is still doing as well as can be.
I gotta say I would be the same way and can understand his determination to be independent of extreme assistance. I personally think its a good thing âŠgives him a sense of being and worth. Good news @randycrisp5150 Festus
Thank you for the encouragement. I think one of the hardest parts for him is not being able to drive but that happened without me having to be the bad guy so that is a blessing and leaves me with a clear conscience. I pray a lot and God has put people in places to help who without I wouldnât be able to do as much as I have been able to.
Sup folks?

Hey your Welcome Randy, I actually think about all the folks I have met through the years especially fellow 2nd Amendment supporters and Church folk.
Take advantage of the time you have to spend with him . Because when he is gone you will find yourself wishing to talk to him . I know I still find myself thinking that I need to talk to Dad about somethings and he has been gone for four years .
I canât agree enough with this. My mom has been gone almost 4 years and my dad 3.5 years. I know they are infinitely better off than I am and not troubled by worldly issues. I would still love to have one or preferably both of them around to talk to and ask questions.
My Dad has also been gone for 3 yrs. & 4 months. I miss my Dad alot I made it a point to hunt at least once every year with him . My Dad also was a minister for 52 yrs. And when I needed some spiritual advise or had a biblical question He always had a great answer. My Mom is stiÄșl with us. She wiÄșl be 80 in a few months. Its been tough on her but we do things with her all the time . Plus Mom goes to church with me on Sundays . I truly agree with all these post.
My Mom is still with us too .She is 85 and active . All 5 ft 2 in and 80 pounds of her.
