I don’t but would like to see what you end up with and how it runs, I don’t have nay experience with .17, well, BB guns are .177 aren’t they? ![]()
Will the round fit in a standard size magazine? If the magazine won’t fit into the frame it won’t work. Anything 1911 I’d start with Wilson Combat.
For your Kimber 1911 in .17 HMR, a good place to start is to look into barrels from reputable manufacturers like Wilson Combat or Ed Brown. They often have high-quality options that can enhance performance.

Have you thought about what specific features you’re looking for in a new barrel?

It’s. Mostly just a barrel, although a threaded one would be nice. @shooterrex mentioned checking the fit of the round in a 1911 magazine. I sort of don’t think that will be a problem, although it might be a good idea to take my mag to a gun store and just check out the length fit. Right now it fits and feeds the .17 HM2 without issue. I kind of don’t think it is longer than a .38 Super round, and I have two 1911 IPSC guns that shoot those just fine. Seems the 9mm mags work for .38 Super also. Still, check is a good idea.
